Simbu and Hansika were last seen together in Vaalu, directed by Vijay Chander, in 2015. According to reports, Simbu has a screen time of 30-40 minutes in Maha, and he will play a pilot.
Producer Mathiyalagan of Etcetera Entertainment said in a press note that their current schedule is a hectic one with shoot in five different locations each day. “These are episodes with STR and Hansika, and include a song, action scenes, romantic episodes, party, break up and patch up sequences,” he said.
Talking to DT Next, director Jameel said, “STR came to the shooting spot a couple of hours early and was helping the entire crew. It was fun to work with him, as he is someone who understands the director’s vision and gives us more than what we expect. Both of them are thorough professionals, as they didn’t let their personal life affect work.”
Soon after this schedule, the team will travel back to Chennai. It was also reported earlier that Srikanth is part of the film and Karunakaran and Thambi Ramaiah play supporting roles. Music is composed by Ghibran, and this marks his 25th movie. Madhan Karky is the lyricist.
The film is a crime-thriller and is Hansika’s 50th movie. Not much about the plot has been revealed yet but the film has been in the news for its posters that created a lot of controversy. A case was filed against Hansika and director Jameel in December last year for the first-look poster which featured her smoking in a place like Varnasi. Soon after this the team released a second and third poster which were also controversial.
Hansika currently has the Telugu film Tenali Ramkrishna BA BL and the Tamil film Partner under production. STR is gearing up for the release of Maanadu and will soon begin shoot for the Tamil remake of the Kannada film Mufti.
