Actor Vijay’s 62nd film (referred to as Vijay 62) is speculated to be produced by Sun Pictures. Reports suggest that director AR Murugadoss and Vijay might collaborate again, the third time since Thuppakki (2012) and Kaththi (2014). It was earlier reported that Lyca Productions, the company who bankrolled Kaththi, would be producing this one.
Sun Pictures, who previously produced the Rajinikanth-starrer Enthiran in 2010, has distributed a number of projects including Vijay’s Vettaikaaran (2009) and Sura (2010). The production and distribution company, owned by Kalanidhi Maran, had been keeping a low profile for a while owing to the political situation in the state. According to an Indian Express report, Vijay and Murugadoss will start work post-Diwali this year.
Currently, Vijay is shooting for Vijay 61 directed by Atlee and has the actor playing three different roles in different periods, including one as a magician. Nithya Menen, Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu are the female leads in this film, with Thenandal Studios bankrolling this and AR Rahman on board for the music.
AR Murugadoss, meanwhile, is currently shooting for the final schedule of his Tamil-Telugu bilingual Spyder with Mahesh Babu.
