Sunny Leone left a career in the pornography industry to focus on films. She rose to fame after a stint at Bigg Boss, the Indian version of Celebrity Big Brother. Following this, she was offered an opportunity to make her acting debut with Jism 2. While she consistently gets a barrage of criticism for her former profession, Leone has handled herself with utmost professionalism at all times.
A documentary Mostly Sunny, about the star and her journey thus far, will release in India shortly.
Apart from Leone, the list also includes four other Indians – Gouri Chindarkar (Sangli), Mallika Srinivasan (Chennai), Neha Singh (Mumbai), and Saalumarada Thimmakka (Karnataka).
Other high-profile women on the list include singer-songwriter Alicia Keys; US gold medal winning gymnast Simone Biles, and French politician Rachida Dati.
