In the photograph, he is seen posing with a stethoscope. He is said to play a crucial role in the film. In another post, the actor captioned the picture, ‘Villain??? Wait for the SurpriZe..’. Going by this, it will be the second time that Suresh Gopi will play a doctor who is the antagonist – he last did so in Shankar’s Vikram starrer I, where he eventually suffers a worse plight than the one he inflicts on Vikram’s character.

Recently, it was announced that actress Ramya Nambessan has joined the team, as the female lead. Directed by Babu Yogeswaran of Dass fame, the film stars Sonu Sood as one of the antagonists. Other stars in the film include Bhumika, Munishkanth, Robo Shankar, Yogi Babu, and director Mohan Raja’s son, Pranav. Vijay Antony, who usually composes the music for all his films, has signed up Ilaiyaraaja for Tamizharasan. The actor announced this in January.
The first look poster, which was released in January, featured Vijay Antony holding a pistol, standing in the backdrop of demolished buildings, and looking fiercely at the camera. Pitched as a cop thriller, Tamilarasan is produced by S Kousalya Rani under the banner SNS Movies. RD Rajasekar is the cinematographer and Bhuvan Srinivasan is the editor. Stunt choreography is by Anal Arasu.
On the work front, Suresh Gopi has recently signed a Malayalam film, a sequel to Renji Panicker’s popular 1997 crime film Lelam. It will see the actor reprise the role of Anakkattil ‘Chackochi’ Jacob Stephen. The original was about two rival businesses trading in liquor.
