Sushant Singh Rajput: Road in Delhi to be Named in Honour of Late Actor

Sushant Singh Rajput, the actor who died by suicide in 2020, was commemorated on Thursday on the occasion of his 35th birthday with a road being named in his memory.

A road in south Delhi will soon be named after the late actor, reported ANI. According to the report, a proposal to rename a street in the Andrews Ganj area was approved by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC).

“Six months ago I received a request to rename a street in Andrews Ganj area after Sushant Singh Rajput. The proposal has finally been approved,” Abhishek Dutt, SDMC councillor, told ANI. “We will soon be inaugurating this street. It is very important to give him the respect he deserves,” he added.

In July 2020, the municipal corporation of Rajput’s hometown, Purnea in Bihar, renamed a road and a famous roundabout in his memory.

Meanwhile, Rajput’s sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, announced on Twitter a special scholarship fund for students aspiring to study astrophysics at the University of California, Berkeley.

“I am happy to announce that on 35th Birthday of Bhai, a step has been taken towards fulfilling one of his dreams. The Sushant Singh Rajput Memorial Fund of $35,000 has been set up in UC Berkeley. #SushantDay,” she wrote.
