Tamannaah Bhatia has confirmed testing positive for Covid-19. In a statement put out on her social media, the actress also mentioned that she has been discharged from the hospital.
Tamannaah wrote, “Although my team and I have been very disciplined on set, I unfortunately succumbed to mild fever last week. After taking the mandatory tests, I was diagnosed as COVID-19 positive. I admitted myself into a private hospital in Hyderabad to mitigate adverse health outcomes and after being under the care of expert medical professionals I am now being discharged.”
She further added that it has been a strenuous week for her. “But, I feel relatively well. I am optimistic that I will recover fully from this health peril which is distressing so many people around the world. For the present, I will be self-isolating as advised. A big virtual hug to everyone for their love, concern and positivity. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay well,” she wrote.
Ever since the news broke out, fans and friends have been wishing her a speedy recovery.
Last month, she announced on social media that her parents had tested positive for Covid-19.“My parents were showing mild Covid-19 symptoms over the weekend and as a precautionary measure, everyone at home underwent tests immediately. The results have just come in, and unfortunately, my parents have tested positive. The necessary authorities have been updated of their situation and we are complying with the precautionary guidelines,” she wrote.
Shortly after that, Bhatia announced that she was looking forward to returning to her projects and shared glimpses of her first few days of shoot in Hyderabad.
Bhatia last appeared in a cameo role in Mahesh Babu and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Sarileru Neekevvaru, which released in January. It was recently announced that Bhatia will reprise Tabu’s role in the untitled Telugu remake of Andhadhun.
She has two Telugu films lined up. She is waiting to resume the shooting of Seetimaarr, which will see her pairing up with Gopichand. The film will be a sports drama wherein she will play the role of a kabaddi coach. The film is stalled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
On the Bollywood front, she has Bole Chudiya in the pipeline, co-starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kabir Duhan Singh. She also has the Telugu remake of the Kannada hit film Love Mocktail, titled Gurthunda Seetakalam with Satyadev. Bhatia is also awaiting the release of That Is Mahalakshmi.
