Joking that the award was being misunderstood as the National Award, Parthiban said that had got him excited. He has written, directed, and produced Oththa Seruppu Size 7.

The film had won Jury Award for Best Feature Film, Jury Award Best Feature Film Director, and Best Solo Act Award at the Toronto Tamil International Film Festival. Produced by Parthiban under the banner of Bioscope Film Framers, the film features only one character.
Indian Panorama was introduced in 1978 as part of the International Film Festival of India to promote Indian films and its rich culture and heritage.
The Centre has also awarded 26 feature films and 15 non-feature films from different Indian languages.
In the past, films like Gully Boy, Uri: The Surgical Strike, Jallikattu, and others have won this prestigious honour.
