Tamil Nadu Producers’ Council has condemned the actions of Lingaa distributors who had announced plans to continue their protest demanding compensation.
“Rajinikanth is not responsible for the losses incurred by the distributors. They should hold talks with Eros International, Vendhar Movies and Rockline Venkatesh to come to a decision suitable to all involved,” said Kalaipuli S Thanu, the newly elected president of the council.
Meanwhile, a religious group – All India Hindu Mahasabha – has expressed its support for the distributors, and condemned Rajinikanth’s inaction. The Nadigar Sangam is yet to comment on the issue.
The superstar’s latest release – Lingaa – directed by KS Ravikumar and produced by Rockline Venkatesh, had incurred heavy losses, following which, a group of distributors began protesting soon after the release demanding compensation.
