Initial reports say that her body was found in a decomposed state. The police were by her neighbours after a foul odour started emitting from her house which had remained locked for three days. The police have noticed a injury on her wrist and say she was lying in a pool of blood when found. It is suspected that she died three days ago.

Sabarna has appeared in TV serials like Pasa Malar on Sun TV and Pudhu Kavidhai on Vijay TV. She has also played supporting roles in films like Poojai, Kalai and Kudiarasu, and appeared in reality shows.

Born as Suguna to Anandkumar and Pushpalatha, Sabarna Anand hailed from Udumalaipettai in Tiruppur district and her family had settled in Chennai. She started her career in TV as a show host on Sun Music.

“We never expected that she would end her life. She was a talented artiste, but had a lot of personal issues. She used to be active on Facebook previously. But for some time now, she wasn’t. She was very bold,” Indian Express quotes a close friend of her as saying.

The police suspect this case as a suicide and her body has been sent to the Kilpauk Medical Hospital for post mortem.
