Initial reports stated that Rakul Preet Singh and Raashi Khanna were being considered for the role played by Amala Paul in the original. However, Malayalam actress Anupama Parameswaran has been signed on, reports ToI. She will play a teacher in the film. Anupama debuted with the Malayalam film Premam, and has starred in a number of Telugu and Tamil films. Her most recent Telugu film was Hello Guru Prema Kosame.
