It was also reported that Thalapathy 63 is about football players who get selected to the Indian Football team, and get killed one by one. The blame falls on the coach, played by Vijay, who goes in search of the real culprit.
The film is reportedly not a usual sports drama, but an investigative thriller with sports elements.
Thalapathy 63 is the actor and director’s third collaboration after Theri and Mersal. It features a big star cast with Nayanathara, Kathir, Vivekh, Yogi Babu, Daniel Balaji, Anand Raj and many others. Pitched as a “mass entertainer with superior technical crew and the best production values”, the film is produced by Archana Kalapthi under the banner AGS Entertainments.
R Rahman is the composer, and Vivek is the lyricist. Atlee has retained his previous film Mersal‘s team, with editor Antony Ruben, stunt director Anal Arasu, and art director Muthuraj. Sources suggest that Aalaporaan Tamizhan, a song from Mersal, is the title being considered.
