The Casteless Collective, an initiative by filmmaker Pa Ranjith, has earned fans all over the internet. The collective has several musicians collaborating, performing rock, rap, gaana – an indigenous music form that has become the voice of the oppressed. The concert took place on January 6, 2018 at CSI Bain School.
Madras Records, a music label run by musicians Tenma, Santosh Kumar and Arun Ranjan, along with the Neelam Cultural Centre, run by Ranjith came together for the concert.
The Casteless Collective’s performance videos, shared by Ranjith himself, have widely been appreciated, particularly for thinking out-of-the-box and promoting independent music and musicians while also reinstating human rights and identity.
