Theatre Artist Madhuvanti Arun Joins Arya’s Kadamban

Madhuvanti Arun, who made her debut with Vijay Sethupathi’s Dharmadurai, has been roped in to play a negative role in Kadamban.

ToI report quoted her as saying, “This project is special as I will be sharing screen space with my dad Y Gee Mahendran on celluloid for the first time.”

Directed by Naveen Raghavan, Kadamban has Arya and actress Catherine Tresa in the lead roles. The movie is an action-thriller set in a forest. It has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and is produced by R B Chowdary of Supergood Films.

The actor also has director Vasu’s Shivalinga in the pipeline. She has been roped in to reprise Malavika Avinash’s role in the Kannada version of the film. She plays a Crime Investigation officer in the movie, which has P Vasu, Lawrence and Ritika Singh playing the lead roles. Shivalingaa follows the journey of a detective, played by Lawrence, who works on a murder case where the only eyewitness is a dove.

Daughter of veteran theatre artist, Y Gee Mahendran, Madhuvanti Arun is an educational promoter. She is also a choreographer, theatre artist and at times, director of theatre productions.
