The title look poster of Shanthnu Bhagyaraj starrer Raavana Kottam has been unveiled. Helmed by Madha Yaanai Koottam fame Vikram Sugumaran, the film is being bankrolled by Kannan Ravi under his Kannan Ravi Group banner.
The title poster by Gopi Prasannaa features an empty dust-filled land with grass in the background and the title ‘Raavana Kottam’ on the top. The title has been scribbled in black with tiny dots around it.
Lokesh Kanagaraj took to Twitter to release the poster.

The film is based on geography and a particular tropical climatic condition that occurs only 3 months in a year. ‘Kayal’ Anandhi will play the female lead in the action-drama while Justin Prabhakaran will compose music and Lawrence Kishore will handle edit. Gopi Prasannaa has been roped in as the publicity designer for the film. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be revealed by the makers.
Speaking about the film, producer Kannan Ravi says, “‘Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.’ This is one of the most inspiring quotes for me and it has always had a resonance in my work. We launched our film Raavana Kottam last year. Ever since the commencement, we as a team have been workiqvng hard to make sure that the project materialises in the way we envisaged, and thankfully it has. With a substantial script written by Vikram Sugumaran, a good talent like Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, and gifted actors and technicians, we embarked on our journey.”
He adds, “When we started shooting last year, we had a favourable situation until heavy rains hit us. Since such factors are an integral part of the film, we didn’t want to rush and ruin the essence of the film. Nonetheless, as we decided to resume the shooting during the same season, the COVID19 pandemic happened. I am well aware of the market conditions in cinema right now, but I’m still investing in this movie because I believe in Shanthnu’s talent and Vikram Sugumaran. We are now waiting for the situation to return to normal and for the government order permitting the resumption of shooting with safety and precautionary measures.”

Actor Shanthnu Bhagyaraj thanks his family friend and producer Kannan for being supportive and patient in these difficult times. “Kannan sir is a great entrepreneur and has nothing to do with films, but he still came forward to produce Raavana Kottam as he wanted me to have a breakthrough. Despite the process getting delayed, he remains calm and asks us not to rush. We are now keeping our fingers crossed for the situation to get back to normal and waiting to resume the shoot.”

He adds, “During the commencement of Raavana Kottam, Kannan Ravi sir told me that I would be showered with good film offers post-release. Surprisingly I got offers like Mani Ratnam sir’s Vaanam Kottatum, Vijay anna’s Master, and a couple of more projects that are yet to be officially announced even before we completed Raavana Kottam. He’s such a lucky mascot for me now. He also told me that he doesn’t want any profit from this project and that a return of his investment would suffice so that he could continue producing many more good films. I can’t thank him enough for his support and encouragement.”
The film will resume shooting post-lockdown.

Meanwhile, Shanthanu who was last seen in Dhana‘s Vaanam Kottatum will next feature in Lokesh Kanagaraj‘s Master, Chimbu Deven‘s anthology Kasada Tabara (the film has six editors, music directors, and cinematographers), and Srijar‘s Murungaikkai Chips. The actor has also been releasing videos on his recently launched ‘With Love Shanthnu Kiki’ Youtube channel frequently. His recent Konjam Corona Naraiyya Kadhal short went viral on social media raking in more than a million views.
