Trisha: “I was cheated by ‘Nayaki’ producer Giridhar”

Actress Trisha has claimed that the producer of the bilingual film Nayaki has cheated her and the crew of the film. In a recent interview, the actress stated that the producer did not make the film in the way that was agreed upon. The actress stayed away from the promotions for release of the Tamil version of the film.

In a tweet on the issue, she said she had her reasons for disassociating from the film.

Trisha stated that she took up the film only based on the trust she had on Giridhar, who is her former manager. “I took a stand saying that I will not promote the film because this was not what he had promised me. I felt I had every right to back off when the time came”, said the actress. The actress has also filed a civil suit against the film. Both Tamil and Telugu versions of the film have faced negative response.

The actress is now promoting her next film Kodi which is gearing up for a release this weekend. Going by the trailer, it looks like Trisha plays a local politician with negative shades.  The first look poster from her upcoming ghost movie, Mohini, directed by Madhesh, has created quite a stir. The actress has been portrayed as goddess Durga, armed with many weapons. She has three other projects – Sathuranga Vettai 2, the Tamil remake of NH10 and a film with Vijay Sethupathi in the pipeline.
