Trisha and Vijay Sethupathi to Star in Cinematographer Prem Kumar’s Directorial Debut

Trisha seems to be on a signing spree! The actress earlier got on board projects like Sathuranga Vettai-2 and the Tamil remake of NH-10, and now she will join actor Vijay Sethupathi in a film to be directed by C Prem Kumar.

Times of India cited a source close to the team saying “Trisha has been finalised as the female lead for the project. However, the actress is yet to sign on the agreement officially. Prem Kumar had narrated the script to Sethupathi months ago, and he was impressed with it. Trisha’s role will be a solid performance-oriented one. The rest of the cast and crew is yet to be finalised.” The film will be produced by Nandhagopal.

Prem Kumar and Vijay Sethupathi have worked together before, on films like Sundarapandian and Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom. Prem Kumar was the cinematographer on these films, as well as Pasanga. It should be noted Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom was based on an incident that happened at Prem Kumar’s wedding.

Trisha was mentioned as as one of the female leads in the film Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal, planned by Vignesh Shivan, but the project did not materialise. Meanwhile, Trisha has been busy with the photoshoot of Sathuranga Vettai 2. The first look poster from her upcoming ghost movie, Mohini, directed by Madhesh, has created quite a stir. The actress has been portrayed as goddess Durga, armed with many weapons.

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi’s next film with KV Anand has been given a title – Kavan, and the film’s stills have been released. The film is a comeback of sorts for actor T Rajendar.
