The Tamil remake rights have been bought by BOFTA Media Works India, which is currently producing Mr. Chandramouli, starring Karthik, Gautham Karthik, Regina Cassandra, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and others, directed by Thiru.
Vidaarth, who last starred in Oru Kidaiyin Manu and Kurangu Bommai, will reprise Manav Kaul’s role from the original film.
In an exclusive interview with Silverscreen, director Radha Mohan, talked about the remake, that there’s a lot of positivity surrounds the project. “Everything just fell into place. There’s a lot of positivity around this project; everyone has had only kind things to say,” explained the director. “Casting is very important for a film such as this, and I’m going to take my time. I don’t want to mis-cast even one role, because it is a performance-oriented film,” he added.
Apart from the addition of Lakshmi Manchu, who will play Neha Dhupia’s role from the original, details about the rest of the cast and crew will be shared over time. Tumhari Sulu released last year on November 17. The film is about a middle-class woman, who takes up the job of a late night radio jockey. Helmed by Suresh Triveni, the film was produced under the T-Series and Ellipsis Entertainment banners.
