Actor Udhayanidhi Stalin, whose film Gethu is releasing today, has announced that his next film will be called Manithan. Directed by I Ahmed, the film is the official remake of the Hindi film Jolly LLB. Manithan is also the title of a 1987 drama directed by SP Muthuraman, and starring Rajinikanth and Rupini.
Shooting of Manithan is nearing completion. The team had suffered a setback after the Tamil Nadu floods destroyed the film’s sets. The courtroom sets have been re-erected and shooting had resumed at a brisk pace.
Jolly LLB is a courtroom comedy starring Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani. Udhayanidhi Stalin and Prakash Raj play the two leads in the remake. Actresses Hansika and Aishwarya Rajesh play the female leads. Manithan is being produced by Red Giant Movies.
