Magic Rays, a distribution firm, had filed a case against the film’s release, citing conflicts with Chimbu Cine Arts, which would be releasing the film in Tamil Nadu. Following this, the Madras High Court had stopped the release scheduled for July 17. Support for the film had poured in from all quarters of the industry, including from fellow actors.
The release date will most likely be confirmed on Wednesday, after legal formalities are completed on Tuesday. Vaalu, directed by debutante director Vijay Chander, stars Simbu, Hansika and Santhanam. Produced by SS Chakravarthy’s Nic Arts, Vaalu has music composed by Thaman.
