The first show of Vaalu after three years of delays finally took off at 10 am today in front of a worldwide audience. Ironically, the morning shows were ‘almost’ cancelled after QUBE and UFO denied permission citing financial issues. Actor STR, who was at the Kasi theatre for the morning show, was able to resolve the issues. So great was the uncertainty around the film’s release that the KDM (the electronic key to unlock the film) didn’t arrive until 9:30 am.

According to sources, distributor T Rajendar has settled the monetary issues with QUBE and UFO. The screening began with a ‘Thank You’ note for actor Vijay. Vijay, producer PT Selvakumar and Cosmo Sivakumar have been instrumental in clearing the issues surrounding the film’s release. In a recent press meet, distributor T Rajendar said that he had spent Rs.25 crores on the film’s release.
Vaalu, a romantic comedy, stars STR and Hansika along with actor Santhanam in an integral role. After nearly 15 postponements, the release of Vaalu has been welcomed with relief by the team and fans. STR even visited the Shiradi Sai Baba temple yesterday to pray for a smooth release. At the time of publication, actors STR and Jai are watching the movie along with fans at the Kasi theatre.
