Vaani Kapoor will join Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in Shamshera which is being directed by Karan Malhotra.
The 29-year-old actor will play the character of a travelling performer from the Indian heartland in this Yash Raj Films’ action entertainer.

The director, in a statement, said, “Vaani plays Ranbir’s love interest in the film and is a very important collaborator in his character’s journey. Her character graph is interlinked to the plot. She is a crucial catalyst in our hero’s rebellious mission.”
He also added, “Vaani is a perfect fit for the role. She is a fine actor, a fabulous dancer and a gorgeous Hindi film heroine. We wanted someone absolutely fresh to wow audiences on the big screen and she beautifully fits that brief.”
Shamshera is set in the heartland of India and will have jaw-dropping action sequences and Ranbir in a never-seen-before avatar. Ranbir will reportedly play a dacoit and Sanjay his arch-nemesis. Shamshera is set to go on floors by the end of this year and shooting will wrap up by mid-2019.
