Vetrimaaran has said that Vada Chennai will take a long time to get completed. The director, in conversation with Silverscreen, said: “We’ve been facing delays since the beginning. First, I had to go to promote Visaaranai’s publicity for Oscars. Then, Dhanush had to leave to finish his films. So the first part itself will be a little late.”

Vetrimaaran also said that he does not want to finish the trilogy in one go. “I get bored a lot. So I am not really keen on getting everything done in one go. I want to take some time between, maybe make another film, and then return to Vada Chennai. Im sure Dhanush would prefer that as well.”
Vada Chennai has Dhanush in the role of a North Madras gangster. Andrea Jeremiah and Amala Paul star in this big-budget film that went on the floors last year.
