The first look of Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s Kannamoochi was announced on Twitter on Sunday. The movie marks the actress’s debut as a director.

The poster features Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and her eyes are covered by two grotesque looking hands. There are speculations that the film deals with women’s issues and women empowerment. The details of the movie are yet to be announced.
Despite not being on social media, film personalities such as Sangeetha Vijay and actress Jyothika took pictures of them holding up a photo of the poster to show their support for the movie.

The announcement poster showcases that the film is being bankrolled by Thenandal Films, which previously produced the hit Tamil film Mersal. N Ramaswamy will be producing it. It has also been reported that music director Sam CS will be a part of the project. The cinematography will be done by E Krishnaswamy.
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who has always been vocal about feminist issues, recently appeared in the Telugu anthology series Addham. Her last Tamil movie was Danny which had an OTT release on Zee5.
The actor, who has previously appeared in many big-budget movies such as Sarkar, Sandakozhi 2, will also appear next in actor Ravi Teja’s film Krack alongside Shruti Haasan and Samuthirakani.
