Ajith’s upcoming film with director Siruthai Siva – Vedhalam – has been trending on Twitter for nearly 24 hours now. A Vikatan report claims that the rights to the title originally belonged to actor-director Raghava Lawrence.

Reportedly, Lawrence was planning to to work in a film titled Vedhalam, which was to be directed by debutant director Soori, after Kanchana 2. However, since Lawrence had signed two movies with Vendhar Movies, he decided to postpone Vedhalam indefinitely. When he learnt that Ajith 56 team were looking for a suitable title, and was interested in Vedhalam, Lawrence gave away the title to the team.
Vedhalam, produced by AM Rathnam, has Ajith, Shruti Haasan and Lakshmi Menon in the lead, and Soori, Ashwin Kakumanu, Vidyullekha Raman, Rahul Dev and Kabir Duhan Singh in supporting roles. Anirudh Ravichander scores tunes for this film.
