Veekam, an upcoming Malayalam thriller starring Dhyan Sreenivasan and directed by Sagar, is set to go on floors in October.
The film is produced by Sheelu Abraham and presented by Abraham Mathew under the banner Abaam Movies. Veekam marks the 12th project of the Abaam Movies banner. The production house has a couple of other films ready for release, namely Star and Vidhi.
Director Sagar has also written the script of Veekam.
A source from the film’s unit, on condition of anonymity, told Silverscreen India that Veekam will have family-oriented elements and will be centred around travelling. “In the film, Dhyan works in the forensic department and is involved in an investigation. Dayana Hameed is cast opposite him,” the source added.
The makers of the film are planning to commence shooting in the second week of October. With cinematography by Dhanesh Raveendranath, Veekam will be shot in Palakkad, Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, and Mumbai.
The film’s music will be composed by William Fransis, while Hareesh Mohan will handle the edits.
Filmmaker Sagar, who made his directorial debut with Kumbarees (2019), has previously collaborated with Dhyan on another film titled Sathyam Mathrame Bodhippikku, featuring the actor in the role of a cop. The family drama is set to have a direct television premiere.
Dhyan was last seen in a cameo role in his directorial debut Love Action Drama, which starred Nayanthara and Nivin Pauly in the lead. He has a slew of projects in the pipeline, including Thrayam, Paathira Kurubana, Adukkala: The Manifesto, Higwitta, 9MM, Kadavul Sakayam Nadana Sabha, Prakashan Parakkatte, Love Jihad, Khali Purse of the Billionaires, and Powder Since 1905.
