Velaiyilla Pattathari, starring Dhanush and Amala Paul, completed a hundred day theatrical run this week. The film marked the directorial debut of acclaimed cinematographer Velraj and was lauded for its storyline and performances. The movie was the first hit for Dhanush in two years – his Mariyaan and Naiyaandi did not do well at the box office. It was also the 25th film in Dhanush’s career. The star thanked his co-stars,fans and family on Twitter.
Velraj was also upbeat about the film’s success and said that he would work doubly hard to make sure his next outing with Dhanush would prove to be equally successful. “I thank everybody who worked to make this film a blockbuster and also the fans who went to watch it in theatres. The love you have shown towards my project has been amazing and I hope to make you all even prouder with my next story..!”
