The controversial Velaiyilla Pattathari posters that irked social welfare groups in the city have been removed, and all posters featuring Dhanush smoking have been replaced. Earlier, an anti-tobacco group had complained about the ‘offensive’ posters to the health secretary, following which the makers were asked to take everything down.
Velaiyilla Pattathari is in its third week at the box office and has proved to be very successful with the audience and critics. Starring Dhanush, Amala Paul, Vivekh and Samuthirakani among others, the film is about the travails of a young unemployed engineer. The film marks the debut of popular cinematographer Velraj and was distributed by Madan for Escape Artists Motion Pictures.
