Venkat Prabhu Might Not Direct Mankatha In Hindi

Director Venkat Prabhu, whose Suriya-Nayanthara starrer Masss Engira Masilaamani hit theatres today, might not direct the Hindi remake of Mankatha as he doesn’t have time, said a IANS report.
Mankatha, which had Ajith, Arjun and Trisha in the lead roles, was one of the biggest hits of Venkat Prabhu’s career.  The report quotes the director as saying, “I’ve had meetings with Saif Ali Khan and John Abraham, but nothing materialised. Mankatha was supposed to be remade, and its remake rights are with Studio Green. They’re planning to make it with a big studio. But I don’t think I’ll be able to direct the remake because I’ve already signed my next Tamil project with Escape Artist Motion Pictures.”
There are also rumours aplenty that there will be a sequel to the action thriller. However, a source close to the director told Silverscreen that it was too early to comment on the Mankatha sequel. He added that no one has approached them for the Hindi remake of the movie.
