Venkat Prabhu’s Maanadu stars Simbu in the lead. The film is rumoured to have actor Jai in a cameo role, with Raashi Khanna or Keerthy Suresh playing the female lead. Arjun Sarja might star as the antagonist. There has been no confirmation regarding these speculations.
A spokesperson for the director told Silverscreen, “As of now the director is busy with the releases of RK Nagar and Party. So work on Maanadu’s production has not proceeded any further. Any update on this film will happen only after the release of Venkat Prabhu’s other films that have been scheduled.”
Ajith Kumar is busy shooting for Thala 59, the official Tamil remake of the Hindi film Pink, directed by H Vinoth of Sathuranga Vettai fame. The film has Shraddha Srinath and Vidya Balan in the lead. Adhik Ravichandran, Arjun Chidambaram, Abhirami Venkatachalam, Andrea Tariang, Aswin Rao and Sujith Shankar have pivotal roles. Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film is produced by Boney Kapoor under his home banner Bayview Projects LLP.
