Director Vetri Maaran’s upcoming film, Visaranai, starring Attakathi Dinesh, Samuthirakani and Anandhi, has been issued a U/A certificate by the censor board officials.

Several unconfirmed reports on social media had said that the film might release on December 31. However, Dhanush, co-producer of Visaranai, told Silverscreen, that the film would release sometime in January.
Visaranai, a screen adaptation of Lock Up, a novel by Auto Chandran, had won accolades at 72nd Venice Film Festival and Jio MAMI 2015. The version of Visaranai, which was screened at those festivals, didn’t have any background score. Currently, the makers are working on the film’s background score.
Jointly produced by Dhanush and Vetri Maaran, Visaranai has music scored by GV Prakash. This film will be distributed by Lyca Productions.
