Vijay’s next film, directed by Chimbu Devan, will go on floors on November 10. The movie has Shruti Haasan and Hansika teaming up with Vijay, while Sri Devi plays an integral role. “The movie is not a fantasy. It is a proper commercial entertainer,” said Shibu Thameen, who co-produces the movie with PT Selvakumar. A massive set has been erected on ECR, where a song featuring the lead stars and 300 dancers, will be filmed first. “Devi Sri Prasad has composed some catchy numbers. We think the songs have turned out well.”
A few crucial action scenes, choreographed by Hollywood stuntman Lee Whittaker, will be canned in the first schedule. Shibu Thameen revealed that Chimbu Devan is still treating the script. “And so we can’t confirm if Vijay has a dual role in the film. It will be finalised in a week.”
The producer also denied rumours about the movie being named Mareesan. “We haven’t chosen the title yet. But it’s definitely not Mareesan because Chimbu Devan wanted that title for Dhanush. That project was shelved. We are still in the process of finding the apt one.”
Nataraj handles cinematography.
