Although this will be his debut film in Telugu, Antony is a known face in the Telugu States, as all his films have been dubbed and released there. The dubbed version of Pichaikaaran- Bichagadu released in May and raked in more than Rs 20 crores. The distributors of the film had bought it for just Rs 50 lakh. The magnitude of Bichagadu’s profit reflected on his next film’s release, as Bethaludu was purchased by Telugu producers for Rs 3 crore. However, the film didn’t do as well as Bichagadu.
Vijay Antony is currently filming Yeman, an action thriller film directed by Jeeva Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions. The film also stars Mia George. Yeman is expected to release in early 2017.
