Over the last few weeks, there has been speculation that actor and Desiya Murpoku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK( leader Vijaykanth’s health had deteriorated and he was taken to the US for emergency treatment. A statement issued by the party’s Joint Secretary now says that Vijaykanth is well and will return to Chennai soon. He will also take a decision on the upcoming Thiruvarur bypoll.
Reports had suggested the actor and politician was suffering from kidney ailments and was advised a kidney transplant urgently. He’d therefore left to the US on October 18 along with his wife headed to United States for the second level treatment, where he would stay at a friend’s home. However, reports also said that, Dr Sownderarajan, husband of doctor-politician Tamilisai, the state president of BJP was treating Vijayakanth.
