Vijay is reportedly in talks with director Shankar for his next. The actor is currently busy with shoot for director Atlee’s Bigil co-starring Nayanthara.
Sources close to Vijay denied reports about his next film. “Work on Thalapathy 64 has just begun. News about his 65th film are rumours as of now,” a source told Silverscreen.
Thanthi TV reports that Shankar met Vijay with a script, the actor liked it and is considering signing up. Similar speculations were made last month as well, however, as reported, sources said that Shankar’s next is likely to be with Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay and Vikram’s son Dhruv, and not with Vijay.
Director Shankar will begin shoot for Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan in July or August. He launched the film in January this year, but had to postpone it as Kamal was busy with elections.
The actor-politician is now shooting for Bigg Boss 3 in Chennai. Source earlier told Silverscreen that he will undergo a complete makeover for the sequel, and this may take up to 15 days after the reality show Bigg Boss wraps up. More announcements are awaited.

Meanwhile, shoot for Bigil, Vijay’s 63rd film, is on in Chennai. The first-look of the film released on June 22 and confirmed that Vijay plays a double role, most likely that of a father and son – Bigil and Michael. Today, picture of an ID card used for the film began doing the rounds on social media. The card said that Vijay as C Micheal is the head coach of a football team competing in the Senior Women’s National Football Championship.
It is speculated that that father character Bigil plays a fisherman. Sathyaraj was reportedly first approached for this role, but Vijay requested Atlee if he could play both roles. Nayanthara’s character is not known yet. Varsha Bolamma, Indhuja, Kathir, Jackie Shroff, Vivekh and Yogi Babu are others in the cast.
Work on Vijay’s 64th film has also begun. The film will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Rashmika Mandanna may be seen as the female lead. Official announcements are yet to be made.
