Gayathri, who jointly directed the film with her husband Pushkar, told Silverscreen, “We didn’t think of sequel while we were making Vikram Vedha. There was demand for a sequel after the film released, probably because of the cliffhanger ending. There will be a sequel, but we have to start writing the story. But the sequel can’t take off without Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan.”

Critically acclaimed and a raging box office hit, Vikram Vedha focuses on the relationship dynamics between Madhavan and Sethupathi. Madhavan played an encounter specialist and Sethupathi a gangster.

The Telugu remake is likely to have Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh in the lead roles.
