Cobra starring Vikram has commenced its dubbing, the filmmakers announced on Vijayadashami on Monday.
Lalit Kumar’s Seven Screen Studios, which is bankrolling the movie, shared photos from the dubbing studio on Twitter and wrote, “In this auspicious day, starting the Dubbing of #Cobra #ChiyaanVikram @AjayGnanamuthu @Lalit_SevenScr @arrahman #HappyVijayadasham”
The film is billed to be a supernatural thriller and is helmed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, who is known for his previous works, including Imaikkaa Nodigal and Demonte Colony. Cobra also stars Srinidhi Shetty who starred in the KGF franchise, opposite Vikram.

With the film industry being hardly hit by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Gnanamuthu, earlier this year, announced that he will forego 40% of his salary to help with the film’s production. Originally slated to release in May this year, it has been postponed due to the pandemic. However, filmmakers are looking to complete the project by the year-end.
The film will feature Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan playing the role of a Turkish Interpol officer. While Vikram’s character is named Madhiazhagan, Shetty will be playing Bhavana Menon. The film also stars Vidya Lakshmi from 13th Belief, KS Ravikumar, Shane Nigam, Poovaiyar from Super Singer, and Comali director Pradeep Ranganathan in crucial roles.
