The uncut version of director Vetrimaaran’s Visaranai, based on the novel Lock Up, will be released on YouTube in two months, according to an IANS report. The film continues to have a strong showing at the box-office, and has received overwhelmingly positive reviews.
The uncut version, which included profanity, was screened at the Venice International Film Festival and at the Jio MAMI Film Festival in Mumbai, in 2015. The censored version now running in theatres has eliminated some of hte profanity, and added background music.
Recently, Visaranai was screened for Madras High Court judge PN Prakash and some trainee civil judges. The judges were impressed with the film and congratulated Vetrimaaran as well the author of Lock Up, Chandra Kumar. Both Chandra Kumar and Vetrimaaran attended the screening.
Visaranai stars Attakathi Dinesh, Aadukalam Murugadoss, Pradeesh Raj and Silambarasan. The supporting cast includes Kishore, Samuthirakani and Ajay Ghosh.
