Actor Vishal, the General Secretary of the Nadigar Sangam, has said that the Sangam will not invite former office bearers Sarath Kumar and Radha Ravi to the General Body meeting to be held on November 27, at Loyola College. “This is not a personal decision, we are only following the rules and guidelines of the Sangam. There have been accusations against them, and the case is in court. Therefore, we simply have to abide by the rules.” he said.
Apart from the General Body meeting, the organisation will be felicitating Kamal Haasan on his Chevalier honour, besides presenting awards to other veteran film and stage actors.

In September, actors and former office bearers Sarath Kumar, Radha Ravi and Chandrasekar were temporarily suspended from the organisation over corruption allegations. In March, the new administration audited accounts of the Nadigar Sangam pertaining to the tenure of the previous administration. The audit revealed mishandling of funds amounting to Rs. 1.65 crores. A show-cause notice was also issued to the said actors seeking their explanation. Now, an FIR is registered against the suspended members for alleged mishandling of funds.
Actress Radhikaa criticised Vishal and Karthi for launching a ‘witch-hunt’ against senior actors. Radhikaa alleged that their accusations were baseless and that no explanation was given regarding the suspension of Sarath and Radha Ravi. Chiding Vishal and Karthi for their behaviour, she said, “Can you erase the bitterness and grow up boys?.”
