Twitter has slammed Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi for sharing a crass meme taking a dig at former girlfriend Aishwarya Rai’s personal life and her relationships.
Referring to the 2019 exit polls’ predictions doing social media rounds, predicting the win of the present NDA government, the meme captions a picture of Aishwarya Rai and her ex-boyfriend Salman Khan as “opinion poll”, Aishwarya with Vivek, whom she also dated in the past, as “exit poll”, and Aishwarya with Abhishek Bachchan and their daughter Aaradhya as “result”.
Vivek Oberoi re-posted the meme crediting a person named Pavan Singh for making it, and called the meme creative, “Haha… Creative! No politics here… just life,” he said.
Haha! ? creative! No politics here….just life ??

Celebrities and others on Twitter have called him out for being disrespectful and creepy, and said he had not known to respect women in the past too. Sonam Kapoor shared a tweet by journalist Nidhi Razdan asking him to move on, and called the tweet disgusting and classless. Badminton player Jwala Gutta, Video Jockey Ria and other people too called him out.
Disgusting and classless. https://t.co/GUB7K6dAY8

In a now-infamous 2003 press conference, Vivek Oberoi had alleged that he was being threatened by Salman Khan because he was dating Aishwarya Rai. Post this, Aishwarya and he broke up. She went on to marry Abhishek Bachchan.
Aishwarya is currently at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival in France, while Vivek is awaiting the release of his biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, directed by Omung Kumar, which was postponed because of the Lok Sabha elections. It will now release on May 24, a day after the results are announced. In January, ahead of the elections, Vivek Oberoi even suggested he might join politics in the future, and if he did, he would contest from Vadodara in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
