Saturday morning was not a happy one for Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. She was looking forward to the live telecast of the annual Tyagaraja Aradhana on Doordarshan as it was evident from her tweets.
Now on @DDNational :- Tiruvaiyaru Aradhana, an annual musical dedication to Saint #Tyagaraja one of the 3 great composers of classical Carnatic music, at his samadhi. #PushyaBahulaPanchami. Traditionally held with participation of/by/for all without discrimination #musicaltreat

Thanks @DDNational for live telecast of this musical tradition. Such a treat to watch so many young aspiring musicians, as with every year, joining in the #Aradhana . Music lovers look forward to re-energise themselves by linking here.#Tyagaraja

Now live on @DDNational #Aradhana #Tyagaraja in sweet #Telugu, sung by all. Tyagaraja’s bhakti was the longing of an earthly being to unite with his Maker who he saw in Sri Rama. Tyagaraja cared nothing about living in poor financial condition- just kept pouring out his heart.

The musical event is hosted in honour of the celebrated Carnatic composer Sri Thyagaraja. But the rude interruption of the advertisement completely displeased her and she took to Twitter to admonish the ‘thoughtless’ Doordarshan.
Yo @DDNational what! You couldn’t wait for a few moments more for the Pancharatna Krithi-s to be completed. Advertisement and more. #Aradhana #Tyagaraja . Thoughtless, insensitive.

The CEO of Prasar Bharati, Shashi Shekhar, not taking it lightly promised strict action.
Absolutely unfortunate madam. Strict action will be taken.

A few helpful people also informed her of a repeat telecast.
Its been telecast at 3 PM.
