Filmmaker S.S Rajamouli, speaking to Silverscreen, said that his magnum opus Baahubali could not have happened without Prabhas setting aside two years for the project. Rajamouli is currently busy with post-production work on the movie.

Rajamouli further said that Prabhas was meant to be part of the project right from the beginning and added that he was determined to work with him on the project. “I knew Prabhas was the hero from the beginning. As other characters formed, we thought of Rana and Anushka,” Rajamouli told Silverscreen, and added he didn’t write the script keeping these actors in mind. Prabhas and Rana play brothers in the film and lock horns over a kingdom. For the project, Rajamouli wanted Prabhas to spare a year, but Prabhas set aside double that.
Baahubali releases worldwide on July 10.
