Gouthami on Her Comeback

Gouthami, who makes a comeback in Papanasam alongside Kamal Haasan, revealed that she resumed work on her daughter Subbulakshmi’s suggestion. In an interview to The Hindu, Gouthami declared that she is impressed by the young filmmakers in the industry, and aspires to do more films.

Uttama Villain Might Release on Kamal Haasan’s Birthday

Kamal Haasan’s next film, Uttama Villain is likely to release on the actor’s birthday, November 7. Directed by Ramesh Aravind, Uttama Villain is a period film. Actresses Andrea and Pooja Kumar team up with Kamal Haasan again after Vishwaroopam. Parvathy of Maryan fame plays a key role. Ghibran composes music. When contacted, the makers, Thirrupathi Brothers were not available for comment.

Papanasam Progresses at a Brisk Pace

Papanasam, the Tamil remake of Drishyam, is now being filmed at Thodupuzha, Kerala, the location where the original Malayalam film was shot. The shoot is progressing rapidly and the team will move on to Kuttralam next. The film features Kamal Haasan, Gouthami in lead roles, while Asha Sharath, Nivedha Thomas and Kalabhavan Mani form the supporting cast. Director Jeethu Joseph, who made the original, is directing the Tamil remake as well.

Papanasam Team Clarifies

Trouble is brewing for Kamal Haasan on the sets of Drishyam remake.  The actor has been filming some scenes in the Nanguneri Mutt late last month, and already, things have gone a little awry for him.Kamal Haasan and Gouthami Tadimella star in this as yet-untitled remake of the hit Malayalam movie.  Directed by Jeethu Joseph, who conceived the original, the film began shoot only recently.

Kamal Haasan will play Suyambulingam in Papanasam.  A scene was shot recently in the Nanguneri mutt featuring the actor, and some pictures have even found their way online.But the Nanguneri mutt officials gave us permission to shoot some scenes outside the temple and as a mark of respect, Kamal Haasan met the priest.

Director Mithran Jawahar is likely to remake the Malayalam movie Thattathin Marayathu.   Jawahar debuted with Yaaradi Nee Mohini, itself a remake of the Telugu film Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule.  He followed this with successive reboots of telugu movies Arya, Ready and Swami Ra Ra Ra (Saamiyattam in Tamil).

Kamal Haasan to Speak Nellai Tamil

Actor Kamal Haasan will be speaking the Nellai dialect of Tamil in the upcoming Drishyam remake. Also starring actress Gouthami, the movie is set against the backdrop of Thirunelveli and will have the lead pair playing a middle class Hindu couple, in direct contrast to the Malayalam original. Composer Ghibran has reportedly been approached to score for this movie. Drishyam’s director Jeethu Joseph will be helming the Tamil re-make as well, and the team is currently on the lookout for a perfect title for the film.
