D Imman and Suseenthiran team up for the fourth time in Maaveeran Kittu. All their previous collaborations have resulted in melody-filled albums that lend themselves beautifully to romance. Maaveeran Kittu is no exception. At least, according to actor Harish Uthaman, who has a major role in the film.

Speaking at the movie’s audio launch, Harish said, “This album will make people fall in love. It creates that sort of a beautiful atmosphere.”

Harish was also highly impressed with director Suseenthiran’s work ethics and single mindedness. “From start to finish, the film was planned so meticulously. I feel like I just signed on for the role, and in such a short while, we’re all here at the audio launch.”

Director Pa Ranjith spoke highly of the film’s realistic portrayal of rural life onscreen. “Tamil cinema portrays villages unrealistically. But when I saw Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu, I was very happy with the presentation. He showed the politics inside villages and in a game like Kabaddi so well. That authenticity is what Suseenthiran sir brings to his films. I believe that Maaveeran Kittu will be an iconic film in the same vein as Suseenthiran’s earlier films.”

The movie has a line of dialogue – “Kadhal summave vidathu,” that struck a chord with Pa Ranjith. “Love will not let society be. It will shift boundaries, change pre-exisiting bias and challenge hierarchy. It is this challenge that will make Maaveeran Kittu a big success.”

Meanwhile, the movie’s female lead, Sri Divya took a good two minutes to thank D Imman for giving her career such beautiful songs. Also, she fan-girled hard over director Suseenthiran, to a lot of collective awwing from the audience.

She also expressed her confusion over her cameraman’s sudden change of name. “I thought his name was Ilaiyaraaja. But now, they’re all calling him Surya. Anyway, I would like to thank him for making us look so attractive onscreen, even without makeup.”

The highlight of the film’s teaser launch earlier this year was Parthiepan’s pet parrot. It was nowhere to be seen at the audio launch, much to the disappointment of our photographer.

Maaveeran Kittu has Vishnu Vishal and Sri Divya in the lead roles. D Imman has composed the music for this period drama that focusses on a Tamil man’s battle to secure necessary rights for his people. The film is all set to release in early 2017.
