‘Ab lockdown mein mujhe gaathe hue bhi jhelna padega,’ Shah Rukh Khan declared yesterday. (Now in lockdown you’ll have to put up with my singing too). Watch his sweet little video of a song that feels life affirming in these bleak times. It’s fun, funny and heartwarming, all at once.
Extremely grateful to #IforIndia, @Its_Badshah & @cacklerraj for music, lyrics & for working overnight. Thanks Sunil for the edit. All so that I could sing. Ab bhai, lockdown mein mujhe gaate hue bhi jhelna padhega. AbRam is saying ‘papa enough now!’ Par Sab Sahi Ho Jaayega! pic.twitter.com/T7eLzBuC9Q

Danish Sait’s videos are perhaps the best comedic works to come out of the lockdown in India. Danish posts new works on his social media handles. Look out for the supermarket one, it’s hilarious. Here’s the newest video:

Alexander Babu, stand-up comedian, whose special Alex In Wonderland is streaming on Amazon Prime, has been posting videos of himself singing Tamil songs with English lyrics. The latest on the inimitable Sirkazhi Govindarajan, has struck a chord with many fans of both Sirkazh’s and Alex’s. Translators often talk about transcreation. Alex’s songs are along those lines too.
Naveen Polishetty’s (of Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya fame) new video is a riff off the popular Spanish heist crime drama Money Heist. On life in lockdown and how it has changed after watching the show. Also, what would happen if the show was made in India.
