Jennifer Aniston Resumes Shooting for ‘The Morning Show’ Season 2

Jennifer Aniston, the actor, resumed shooting for the second season of her Emmy-award winning series The Morning Show on Tuesday. The actor Instagram and posted some behind-the-scene stories Instagram, which show Covid-19 protocols being followed on the set.

After much fanfare, Season 2 of The Morning Show, which is streaming on Apple TV+, had begun shooting in March. But due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the production was halted. Production resumed in October with necessary safety protocols in place.

The show stars Aniston and Reese Witherspoon in the lead along with Steve Carell. The return of Carell for Season 2 has not been confirmed yet. Witherspoon had joined the set on November 15. She posted a photo on Instagram and announced that she’s “back to work”.

Last month, Hasan Minhaj announced he will be starring in the second season of The Morning Show. Deadline reported that Minhaj will play the role of Eric, a charismatic rising star on the show.

The show revolves around the world of morning news and the life of Aniston’s character Alex Levy. In the first season, we see Alex’s show being in jeopardy as her co-host, played by Carell, is fired amidst sexual harassment allegations. As Alex desperately tries to save her morning show, she is met with competition from Witherspoon’s character, Bradley Jackson, who is a reporter.

The Morning Show has received a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for Aniston. The series has also won eight Primetime Emmy Awards, along with three Golden Globe nominations, and was nominated for Outstanding New Program by the Television Critics Association this year.
