Nani’s ‘V’ To Premiere On Amazon Prime Video On 5 September

On Wednesday evening, actor Nani took to social media to release an out-of-context video featuring himself. In the video, he was seen talking about how one can watch a movie repeatedly even if it has been seen in theatres, how our houses have turned into theatres and brought the cinema experience home, and how he was missing the excitement that would prevail on the day of a film’s release. In the end, he added, “V have an announcement” and said it would be out tomorrow.

While it was known from the video that the film would see a direct-OTT release, the makers officially announced on Thursday that the film will premiere on the streaming platform on 5 September. is Nani’s 25th film and he will be seen playing the antagonist in the film. It has been written and directed by Mohana Krishna Indraganti.

Along with the announcement, Nani penned a note stating that the film is special to him and that the experience will not be a regular one. He said that it was time he came home to thank audiences for visiting theatres to watch him on screen for 12 years. He also added, “When theatres open, Tuck Jagadish will take over. Promise!” confirming his next film’s release in theatres.

Bankrolled by Dil Raju, Shirish, and Harshith Reddy under their Sri Venkateswara Creations banner, V is about a cop whose life changes when a killer challenges him with a puzzle.

Apart from Nani, the action thriller stars Nivetha Thomas, Sudheer Babu, and Aditi Rao Hydari in lead roles and Jagapathi Babu, Vennela Kishore, Nasser, and Srinivas Avasarala in supporting roles.

On the technical front, Amit Trivedi is on music with Thaman S on the background score, PG Vinda is on cinematography, Raveendar is on art, Marthand K Venkatesh is on the edit, and Ravi Varma is on the stunt.

Nani who enjoys thrilling dramas with fast-paced action promises the same with his film V. “The cat-and-mouse game between Sudheer Babu’s and my character is what drew me the most to this project. The film was earlier slated to hit theatres on 25 March 2020 for Ugadi but was delayed due to the lockdown. The teaser of the film dropped in February and has garnered over 11 million views.
