The cast and makers of Yaara, director Tigmanshu Dhulia’s next film, launched the trailer of the film on their social media channels today. The film stars Shruti Haasan and Vidyuut Jammwal in lead roles. Yaara is a remake of the 2011 French film A Gang Story, and explores the journey of childhood friends who run operations on the Indo-Nepal border.
The movie was originally intended for a theatrical release, however, due to the pandemic and restrictions placed on the opening and operations of public gathering places, the film will premiere on the ZEE5. The cast had released a teaser of the movie last week.
The film is set in 1970 and traces the journey of the Chokdi Gang. After the lifelong friends (played by Vidyut Jammwal and Amit Sadh) get caught and spend time in prison after owning up to their mistakes, they each go their separate ways and live their life. A series of events puts them in each other’s path and what unfolds forms the rest of the movie. Amit Sadh, Vinay Verma, and Sanjay Mishra also play key roles in the film.
Yaara premieres on Zee5 Premium on 30 July and is being pegged as a Friendship Day film. Watch the trailer here:
