Actor Siddharth Suryanarayan, a prominent face in Tamil and Telegu films, is set to star in a new Hindi thriller web series Escaype Live, produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s One Life Studios, PTI reported.
Siddharth, who is best known to the Hindi film audience for his role in Om Prakash Mehra’s film Rang De Basanti, said he is excited to return to work after making his digital debut in 2019 with Leila, a Netflix dystopian series.
Producer-director Tewary will be co-directing the series with Abhishek Sengupta. Tewary is known for creating and winning the ITA award for best director and Star Guild Award for the best ensemble cast for the mythological shows like Mahabharat (2014) and Karmaphal Daata Shani (2017), respectively,
Escaype Live has been touted as a ‘tech-thriller’ that follows the lives of five Indians who use a popular live-streaming app to achieve overnight fame and fortune.
“It’s a really interesting plot and the way Siddharth and Abhishek have panned the story out honestly depicting the India’s young Indian and their digital affinity just blew my mind. I pick projects that I instinctively relate to and if it’s a script that moves me. I’m very excited with the scope of Escaype Live and how it will present me to my Hindi audience,” Siddharth said in a statement.
“I’m also glad to have chosen this tech thriller to regale audiences with despite how tough the year has been for everyone due to the pandemic. We need to go back out there and do our bit while ensuring we are maintaining every necessary safety and sanitisation protocols,” he added.
After Leila, Siddharth starred in two Tamil thrillers- Sivappu Manjal Pachai, directed by Sasi and Aruvam, directed by Sai Sekhar. He is currently working on Indian 2, a Tamil vigilante action thriller directed by S Shankar, which is a sequel to the 1996 film Indian. It is set to release next year.
