Sushant Singh Rajput And Sanjana Sanghi Starrer ‘Dil Bechara’ To Stream On Disney+ Hotstar From July 24

Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi starrer Dil Bechara will be hitting a OTT platform directly. While rumours about the film directly premiering on the digital platform surfaced last week, the official confirmation has now come from the production house Fox Star Studios. The film will stream on Disney+ Hotstar VIP on July 24 for both subscribers and non-subscribers in memory of the late actor.

Helmed by renowned casting director Mukesh Chhabra, the film is the official remake of Hollywood romantic drama The Fault In Our Stars. Originally based on John Green’s novel of the same name, Shashank Khaitan and Suprotim Sengupta have adapted it for Indian audiences.

The film also stars Swastika Mukherjee, Sahil Vaid, Saswata Chatterjee, Saif Ali Khan, Milind Gunaji, and Javed Jaffrey in important roles. AR Rahman has composed for the film with Amitabh Bhattacharya on the lyrics. Satyajit Pande has cranked the camera and Deepa Bhatia is on the edit.

Earlier titled Kizie Aur Manny, the film was to hit the screens on 8 May 2020 after several postponements. Unfortunately, the release was further delayed because of the nationwide lockdown.

The news though has not gone down well with fans and audiences who had taken to social media last week asking the production banner to release the film in theatres once they open. They asked the studio to honour the actor by exhibiting it in theatres and added that they wanted to see his last film on screens and bid him goodbye in a proper manner.

Meanwhile, the sudden demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, who shot to fame with Kai Po Che!, has created a stir in the Indian film industry. The Chhichhore star who died by suicide in his home in Bandra, Mumbai, on June 14 morning has been the point of discussion on social media for the past few weeks owing to the nature of his death, his on-screen personality and career, and the speculation that Bollywood reportedly refused to help him despite knowing of his long battle with depression.

While there is no clarity yet on any of these allegations, about 23 people including Mahesh Shetty, Mukesh Chabbra, and Rhea Chakraborty have been probed by the Mumbai police.

A few days ago, advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha filed a case against eight people including Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Salman Khan, and Ekta Kapoor under Sections 306, 109, 504 and 506 of IPC in connection with the suicide in a court in Muzaffarpur. Sudhir had alleged that Sushant had been replaced by other actors in about seven films which were earlier bagged by him.

A complete postmortem report on Sushant’s body was received this morning and the police have confirmed that the cause of death has been identified as ‘asphyxia due to hanging’.
