The teaser of the second season of The Family Man was released on Tuesday by Amazon Prime Video.
Created and directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, the second season is set to stream on the streaming app from next year.
The action-drama web series features Manoj Bajpayee and Sharib Hashmi in the lead roles, along with Sharad Kelkar, Priyamani, Gul Panag and Shreya Dhanwanthary. According to a press release issued by Amazon Prime Video, the second season of The Family Man marks the digital debut for actor Samantha Akkineni.

Bajpayee shared the show’s poster on Twitter and wrote, “Bahot hua intezaar. Aapke liye new year ka tohfa laaye hai. Zara dhyaan se kholna (Enough of waiting. We have brought you a New Year’s gift. Open it cautiously).”
The Family Man is a story of a middle-class man Srikant Tiwari, played by Bajpayee, who works for the Special Cell of the National Investigation Agency. He struggles to strike a balance between his top secret yet low paying, high-pressure, high-stakes job and being a husband and father. The series claims to be a satirical take on the geopolitics of the region as it is the story of a middle-class man who is a world-class spy, according to Amazon Prime Video.
The first season of the series premiered on September 2019.
In the sequel of the series releasing on New Year, Srikant Tiwari (Bajpyee) and JK Takpade (Hashmi) will be “taking on a bigger and deadlier mission”, according to Amazon Prime Video.
The Family Man recently walked away with several awards at the Flyx Filmfare OTT Awards, the first edition of the Filmfare OTT Awards. It won the Critics’ Award for both Best Series and Best Director (Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru) along with Bajpayee and Priyamani earning the Critics’ Award in the Best Actor and Best Actress categories, respectively.
